  • If memory serves, I do believe that President Bush was faced with bad press when he made comments about the Rodney King trial in LA. Also I am white and I do not understand why you feel the President should apoligies to "all white people".

  • I heard one report that his rights were not read to him. Also Shawn I understand he remained on his property which he had a right to do. I can't believe that this officer who was suppose to be so racial sensitive did not think to simply difuse the situation and walk away.

  • RTG: And what is the fathers job?? Truthfully it is both the fathers and the mothers job to protect the children, even from one another. If a father has knowledge that a mother is abusing their child and fails to take proper steps to stop the abuse, ie. divorce, custody fight etc.

  • Kate, I understand your feelings regarding the protection of the parents rights. It is not CPS that makes the laws regarding child abuse, it is our lawmakers. It is also not CPS that removes or gives back the children, it is the courts.

  • MizDelight, No disrespect taken. Additional funding is what allows for enough workers, which in turn the workers are able to educate the public regarding abuse and how to intervene on behalf of a child.

  • As a retired CPS social worker I am telling you that abuse like this or worst goes on all across our country and crosses all lines. What is needed is for all Americans to write and fight for better laws regarding child abuse. During hard times funds for women and children are the first to get cut.

  • Ha! Ha! Ha!, I needed this to remind me that I did good and didn't kill my loving 8 year old grandson the other day. I was home alone watching tv when sweet Billy walks in, picks up the remote and changed the channel.
